Seward Park Cooperative is located in a quiet corner of the Lower East Side with a diverse population. We're a stone's throw from synagogues and churches, popular nightlife spots, Chinatown, the Essex Street Market, Abrons Arts Center, world-class restaurants, cafes and specialty food shops. We are adjacent to Seward Park, the country's first public park with a children's playground.
Seward Park leases a number of storefronts. Our own commercial tenants include the following:
On April 24, our Hester Street lot a piece of land off Essex Street that was once the continuation of Hester Street opened its doors for the first time in years to host the Hester Street Fair. With a collection of 60 diverse vendors from vintage clothing to authentic Virginia barbeque made from the family recipe of a local proprietor suddenly over 10,000 people crossed Delancey in a single day!
We also hosted GrandOpening's Pong 3.0 for several months in an open storefront, culminating in the L.E.S. Cup championship.
Just next to Seward Park Cooperative are businesses and services, many of which make up the The Lower East Side Business Improvement District (L.E.S. BID). This organization provides a variety of services to promote economic activity and improve the quality of life in the Lower East Side.
